Los Arqueros sits in the hillside between Benahavis village and the coast, its golf course laid out in 1991 as the first Costa del Sol design by Severiano Ballesteros. Rather than imposing a template on the land, the course was shaped to follow its contours, an instinct carried through into the residential quarters that grew up around the clubhouse since, Altos de Salamanca among them. Benahavis itself, a few minutes further into the hills, has built its reputation as the gastronomic capital of this coast, a white village of terraced restaurants drawing diners up from Marbella and San Pedro. The combination, a Ballesteros course below and a mountain village above, gives this pocket of Benahavis a character distinct from the golf valleys further east, quieter and greener, closer to the Serrania de Ronda than to Puerto Banus.

The kitchen and living spaces open into one another and onto the terrace, so indoor and outdoor living blur in the way this coast does best, cooking, dining and sitting out treated as one continuous space. The finish favours natural materials and a restrained palette, recently renovated to a contemporary standard against the more traditional roofline outside.

The four bedrooms are generously proportioned, each with its own bathroom, distributed so guests and family have genuine separation. The principal bedroom takes its own terrace and the same panoramic outlook as the living floor below.

The single best feature is that outlook itself. Few town houses in this part of Benahavis hold golf, lake and sea in one frame without a neighbouring roofline breaking the line, and the elevated position here does exactly that, morning and evening alike.

Underground parking and lift access serve the house directly, alongside further storage, useful given the gradient of the streets nearby.
