Nueva Andalucia grew up around the three courses laid out in the valley behind Puerto Banus, and the stretch still known as the Golf Valley remains the most settled part of it. Aloha, Las Brisas and Los Naranjos give the area its shape, the streets run quietly between mature gardens, and La Concha closes the view to the north. It is residential in the proper sense, lived in all year, with schools, tennis and everyday shopping a few minutes from the door. The house is organised over three floors and the ground floor is arranged with obvious intent. Kitchen, dining and living run into one another in a single sequence that opens onto the terrace and pool, with no wasted circulation between them. The effect is of one continuous room that changes function as you move through it. Bedrooms are separated by design rather than by corridor. Guest rooms sit apart from the principal suite, which takes the privacy it needs, and all five are en suite. The distinction is clear without being announced, which tends to be the mark of considered planning. The lower floor is a full part of the house rather than a basement. There is an entertainment room, a gym, a sauna and cold plunge, wine storage and a self contained studio apartment, which gives the house a ready answer for staff, family or guests who stay a while. Outside, the terraces are layered so that dining, lounging and the pool each have their own ground. The pool is set to line up with the open view across golf, valley and mountain, and the planting is restrained enough that nothing competes with it. Materials are consistent throughout and underfloor heating runs under the whole house. Parking is private, with space for four cars.
